Lions Volleyball Have Four Wins In One Week!

The Lady Lions Volleyball Team continued their march toward statewide success by defeating four different schools this past week. On Monday, October 2, they defeated Pinelake Prep 25-19, 25-14, and 25-13. Anna Blue Bentley had 31 assists and two digs, while Bella Terblanche produced six kills, eight digs, and two blocks. Aasia McNeil produced 11 kills four aces, and four digs, while Amy Holchin added a well-rounded performance that included 26 digs, four aces, one kill, and one assist. Other players contributing to the game included: Taylor Osborne, Jenae Baker, Addie Haywood, Brittany Gibson, Hannah Ellis, and Jordan Peters. The total team stats included 55 digs, defining a great defense!

On Tuesday, the Varsity team defeated United Faith 25-18, 25-9, and 25-15. Top performers included Anna Blue Bentley with 24 assists, five aces, and five digs, Bella Terblanche with six kills and five digs, Jenae Baker with ten kills and one dig, and Aasia McNeil with six digs, six kills and two aces. Addie Holchin added seven digs.

The winning continued on Thursday at Hickory Christian Academy where the Lions won 25-17, 25-14, and 25-19.Outstanding play continued for Anna Blue Bentley who recorded 35 assists and thirteen digs, and she was aided by Bella Terblanche who produced seven kills, eight digs, and two blocks. Amy Holchin contributed 19 digs and Aasia McNeil contributed 14 kills and five blocks. Rounding out the performance were Taylor Osborne with six kills and two digs, Jenae Baker with eight kills, Hannah Ellis with two digs, Jordan Ellis with one kill and one dig, Jordan Peters with four digs, Addie Haywood had four aces, four digs, and one kill, and Jordan Peters with four digs.

The final win for the week occurred on Homecoming Friday when visiting Cresset was defeated by SCS 25-9, 25-8, and 25-19. The top performers in the match included Anna Blue Bentley with 34 assists, three aces, two digs, and one kill; Taylor Osborne with ten kills, two blocks, two digs, and one ace; Bella Terblanche with five kills one assist, three digs, and one block; and Jenae Baker with ten kills, two digs, and one block.

Coach Abby Dunlap expressed great appreciation for all players, especially with such a long, busy week.
The Lady Lions play next on Tuesday, October 10 at home against Woodlawn starting at 6:30 PM.
