Multiple Teams · Josh Cronce Hits Game Winner and Faith Bentley Has Big Night as SC Baseball and Softball Continue Winning Ways


Faith Bentley had a big night going 3-3 with 3 RBI’s as the Lions move to 8-2 on the season with a 9-7 victory over North Hills Christian in Salisbury Monday evening. The Lady Lions softball team improved to 8-2.  Amy Holchin added two hits. Hanna Phillips pitched a complete game and also recorded three RBI’s for the Lady Lions.

Down 4-3 in the bottom of the seventh Josh Cronce came up big driving home two runs and the game winner to edge SPAA rival Hickory Christian 5-4 here at McClure Park tonight. Clean up hitter Cronce was 2-4 on the night with 1 stolen base.  Brian Godwin was 3-3 with 2 stolen bases and 2 runs scored.  Charlie Jacobs was 2-4 with a stolen base.  Ben Oliver was 1-1 but walked 3 times, had 3 stolen bases and scored.  Adam Prevette was 1-3 with an RBI and a stolen base.

Tyler Laws picked up the complete game win with 8 strike outs and no earned runs. The Humbabies move to 12-6 and 6-1 in the SPAA and sit in first place.  The Lions play again on Thursday night at 7:00 PM against United Faith before heading to Ridgecroft on Saturday for a double header.
